Twitch streamer and activist Clara “Keffals” Sorrenti, who identifies herself as a trans-female, became the latest victim of swatting. She woke up on the morning of Friday, 5th August 2022, with the cops pointing a gun at her face.
At 6 AM on Friday, the London police in the Canadian region of Ontario received a very suspicious email. This mail stated that the sender was Clara Sorrenti, who identified herself as a trans woman. Here, she claims that she has got herself a gun illegally and has used it to shoot and kill her own mother. It also stated that she plans to go to the City Hall and “shoot every cisgender person” on sight.
This came right after Keffals got suspended from Twitch for 28 days. She was suspended after anti-trans activists exploited the reporting system of Twitch to get her banned from the platform.
This has been the case after a community of anti-trans Twitch viewers found exploits in the reporting system and used it to target and ban trans streamers and activists on the platform.
While the sender of the mail who impersonated Keffals has not been identified, Clara believes it is a person from the same community of anti-trans activists.
While no firearms were found at her house, lots of her electronics, like mobile phones and laptops, were sized by the police for investigation. Clara also reported on the “transphobic” treatment she received from the police, who harassed and threatened her before she could even speak as a victim of a hate crime.
