As per sources, “IBM will acquire German software company Software AG’s enterprise technology platform for $2.33 billion to enhance its AI and hybrid cloud offerings. The platforms, StreamSets enables data ingestion for training AI systems, while webMethods helps manage application planning interfaces. The acquisition will strengthen IBM’s Watsonx AI and data platform and provide clients with additional integration and API management tools for hybrid multi-cloud environments. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.”

Christian Lucas, chairman of the supervisory board of Software AG, said in a statement, “The opportunity to bring the StreamSets and webMethods teams together with IBM to innovate in building the future of hybrid cloud and next-generation AI solutions for the enterprise is uniquely compelling.”
