Based on the LM1458 pre-amplifier and two LM386 low voltage power amplifiers, this kit amplifies a small signal such as a microphone and drives two small speakers or headphone with up to 1W of audio power. The LM386 provides up to 1 watt of low distortion audio power at THD = 0.2% (THD is the total amount of audio distortion) and voltage gain up to 46dB.
