Item Tag: PCB Ground Via rivets

Here are 200 pcs of soft hollow copper rivets that are perfect for providing ground vias through PC boards. Simply drill a hole, pop this through and use a center punch to spread the far side, then sodler both sides. I have watched the various internet groups talk about how to do this, and finally remembered I had a few thousand of these! They are roughly 1/8 inch dia by 3/16 long Note: I have measured the ID and found that a #47 drill (.078 in.) will easily pass through while a #46 (.081 in) is stopped by the internal lip at the smooth end (opposite the flare). If riveted with the appropriate swage, the ID should accomodate .080. OAL is .125 inch, body diameter is .095, head diameter is .132 nominal, and the head thickness is negligable as it is a flare on the copper tube, difficult to measure so small. I weighed two hundred pieces then added a few so you get over 200! I have learned that PCB repair houses sell rivets like this at 25 pcs for 20.00, this is a real bargain at 200 pcs for 15.00!!!
